Bison-Bial 5.0 4-Jaw Universal Self-Centering Semi-Steel Scroll Chuck 1-1/2-8

Exact item shown, from the estate of a master machinist, I don't think he ever used this, it sat on a shelf for a long time (if the 92 below the chuck serial number is the year it was made, that would be 30 years it sat around). It was near a fire and had some surface corrosion and the grease had hardened up - I cleaned it up and re-greased it and it is working fine, it moves smoothly. There is some light pitting along the body of the chuck and sides of the jaws.

There is a new in box chuck key made in Poland (included, see photo). The darkening of the body is from some oil I put on the outside after cleaning it up to protect it. I've looked this over carefully and I don't see any signs of use. If you look at the close-up pictures, you can see the fine scratches from the wire wheel I used to clean up the body (which isn't hardened) and some discoloration on the Bison logo (and the part number is hard to read). You are bascially getting a chuck with no wear but not quite the beauty of a fully factory new chuck for about 1/2 the price of a factory new one that would come in a nice box.

Note to me - on shelf under ultrasonic cleaner, in clear pkg. 5.0 Universal Self-Centering 4-Jaw Semi Steel Body Scroll Lathe Chuck, w/Two-Piece Reversible Hard Jaws.
